Chairperson

Mr Cleopas Chiketa is the chairperson of the Board. He is an accomplished Businessman, HR Leader, and Business Executive Coach. He currently is the Deputy Director in charge of Human Resources for Reserve Bank and Founder and Chairman of Dimensions Consultants Pvt Ltd. 

Musa Sibindi

Vice Chairperson

Musa Sibindi is a distinguished human rights advocate with nearly two decades of experience in community development and the empowerment of marginalized groups. Her exceptional professionalism and dedication were recognized in 2019 when she received the Mega Fest Award for Best Female Director. 

Steven Mupfurutsa

Treasurer

Steven Mupfurutsa is a highly experienced member of the Board of Trustees and Treasurer of ZHI. He brings a wealth of experience, knowledge, and passion to the organization, and is committed to making a difference in the lives of the people of Zimbabwe. 

Elsie Atieno Owindu

Executive Committee Member

Elsie Owindu is the Co-founder and CEO of CareNet Africa – a consumer-based healthcare organization with investments and subsidiary operations anchored on making access to healthcare easier, better and faster. 

Judith Kaulem

Executive Committee Member

Judith Kaulem is a development practitioner, researcher and social policy analyst with over 20 years of working experience. She is currently the Executive Director of the Poverty Reduction Forum Trust, a civil society organization in Zimbabwe, where she oversees and pushes the organization’s vision of influencing development policies so that they put people at the centre with a focus on a life of dignity for all.

Shamiso Matambanadzo

Executive Committee Member

Shamiso is a Food Security and Child Protection specialist, experienced in development programs. Having worked in both non-profit and private sector over the last 10 years she has acquired a very unique skillset providing her with solid strategic oversight competencies to program operations.

Dr Innocent Mugwisi

Executive Committee Member

Dr. Innocent Mugwisi is a highly accomplished professional with over 20 years of experience in various sectors at country, regional and international level showcasing strong strategic acumen and leadership skills.

Prosper Nyabani

Executive Committee Member

Prosper is a WITS Business Scholar, Health Economist, public health specialist and health systems researcher, with over 15 years in health care, health systems strengthening, health financing, emergency response, recovery, preparedness, epidemic and pandemic control & outbreak investigations.

Cleopas Chiketa

Mr Cleopas Chiketa is the chairperson of the Board. He is an accomplished Businessman, HR Leader, and Business Executive Coach. He currently is the Deputy Director in charge of Human Resources for Reserve Bank and Founder and Chairman of Dimensions Consultants Pvt Ltd. He is the Vice President of the Institute of People Management of Zimbabwe and chairs its Finance, Audit and ICT Committee, a fellow of the Institute of Coaching (USA) and Member of International Coaches Federation (ICF) USA. 

Cleopas has served various Boards including the International Association of Facilitators (IAF) where he served as Director – Membership & Chapters, Zimbabwe Institute of Management (ZIM) Board and the Chief Learning Officer Intelligence Board. He is a Board Member of Rubiem Innovations. He also sits in the Zimbabwe Olympic Committee as a Commissioner and serves the Africa Executive Coaching Council (AECC) a Pan African body that is an aggregator in the field of Coaching. Cleopas was recognized under the WHO IS WHO OF PROFESSIONALS 2012 Edition by the WHO HISTORICAL SOCIETY USA. He was crowned among 100 Best Global Coaches by World HRD Congress’s World Coaching Congress 2017 | Mumbai India.

Musa Sibindi

Musa Sibindi is a distinguished human rights advocate with nearly two decades of experience in community development and the empowerment of marginalized groups. Her exceptional professionalism and dedication were recognized in 2019 when she received the Mega Fest Award for Best Female Director.  Musa is renowned for her robust project management abilities and unwavering commitment to the development and empowerment of underserved communities.  As a strategic and approachable leader, Musa excels in driving growth and sustainability through her expertise in program design, grant management, monitoring, evaluation, and learning (MEL), and policy analysis.

 

Musa holds an MSc in Development Studies from the National University of Science and Technology, as well as a Bachelor of Arts in English and Communications from the Zimbabwe Open University and is the Executive Director of the Sexual Rights Centre (SRC). Outside of her professional endeavours, she enjoys spending quality time with her family and appreciating the performing arts.

Steven Mupfurutsa

Treasurer

Steven Mupfurutsa is a highly experienced member of the Board of Trustees and Treasurer of ZHI. He brings a wealth of experience, knowledge, and passion to the organization, and is committed to making a difference in the lives of the people of Zimbabwe.

Steven has a long history of working with not-for-profit organizations in Zimbabwe and abroad, providing auditing and consulting services on various programmes funded by USAID, EU, UN, Global Fund and World Bank obtained during his time at Deloitte.

He is a Chartered Accountant (Zimbabwe) with over 21 years’ experience in auditing, accounting, consulting, and investment management to a diverse range of clients in diverse sectors.

He is currently the Corporate Finance Executive at Mangwana Capital, a venture capital firm, and is also an independent member of the board of directors of Art Holdings Limited, a Zimbabwe Stock Exchange listed manufacturing company.

Elsie Atieno Owindu

Chief Executive Officer – CareNet Africa

Elsie Owindu is the Co-founder and CEO of CareNet Africa – a consumer-based healthcare organization with investments and subsidiary operations anchored on making access to healthcare easier, better, and faster. The CareNet Africa group has two investee flagship operations in Zimbabwe – Healthcare Benefits Consulting – providing Enterprise Health Risk Management solutions, and the Medical Specialist Centre – a new state-of-the-art specialist curative and diagnostic center designed to provide a converged ecosystem for patient access to multidisciplinary specialists, world-class Radiology, and unmatched clinical and anatomic diagnostic services.
CareNet Africa further seeks to put in place new products that provide sustainable healthcare financing solutions targeted to enable the informal sector and the vulnerable members of society gain access to quality and affordable healthcare services.

Elsie has over 23 years’ experience in healthcare business management, and healthcare risk & consulting solutions, across various countries in Sub-Sahara Africa and is passionately driven towards building and creating growth and sustainable development opportunities for transformative and innovative healthcare businesses in both progressive and emerging markets in Africa.

Judith Kaulem

Executive Director, Poverty Reduction Forum Trust, Zimbabwe

Judith Kaulem is a development practitioner, researcher and social policy analyst with over 20 years of working experience. She is currently the Executive Director of the Poverty Reduction Forum Trust, a civil society organization in Zimbabwe, where she oversees and pushes the organization’s vision of influencing development policies so that they put people at the centre with a focus on  a life of dignity for all. She has spearheaded work that advances the attainment of Sustainable Development and is a strong advocate for advancing policies for inclusive development. 

Judith is passionate about enhancing impact of social change programs that address vulnerability, injustice and inequality. She has served in various advisory capacities on local, regional and international Boards including the International Council on Social Welfare, Partners for Review Network, Transparency, Accountability & Participation Network  among others. A holder of  a Masters degree in Adult Education with a focus on development from the University of Zimbabwe as well as several professional certifications, Judith has written several papers and presented at local, regional and international conferences on human development and poverty reduction related issues.

Shamiso Matambanadzo

Shamiso is a Food Security and Child Protection specialist, experienced in development programs. She has demonstrated results in Program Coordination & Management, Program Monitoring & Evaluation, Donor Consortium Reporting, Evidence Based Communications, Advocacy & Policy Influence as well as Corporate Engagement. She has therefore attained management, social interaction and networking skills, combined with an understanding of development issues particularly protracted and rapid onset disaster response, child and youth programming, food security, maternal and child’s health, gender, advocacy and policy influence as well as governance issues within Southern Africa. Shamiso is passionate about enhancing the impact of social change programs that address vulnerability, injustice and inequality and has a successful track record in helping programs articulate their social impact goals. 

Her career includes roles as an Advocacy Communications and External Engagement Team Lead-World Vision Zimbabwe-Harare, Program Manager – World Vision Zimbabwe USAID ENSURE Project,  Regional Evidence and Communications Lead – Deloitte Consulting Overseas Projects LLP (USAID-funded)- Pretoria, South Africa, Program Reporting and Communications Coordinator- World Vision Zimbabwe-Harare and Program Officer- World Vision International-Johannesburg, South Africa.

 

Shamiso contributed to COVID 19 and child marriage publication by World Vision 2021, supported the development of the core model for advocacy (Citizens Voices in Action) for World Vision International on local level social accountability activities- World Vision South Africa, supported the development of the Monitoring and Evaluation Reporting strategy and framework for the USAID funded ENSURE project- World Vision Zimbabwe and led the development of the Monitoring and Evaluation Framework for the USAID-funded Strengthening Transparency and Accountability in Public Finance Management (STAP project) for ZIMCODD. 

She holds a Master of Management Humanitarian and Development Management (Wits University, South Africa Africa) and a Bachelor of Commerce Economics, Accounting and Statistics (University of Namibia, Windhoek).

Dr Innocent Mugwisi

Dr. Innocent Mugwisi is a highly accomplished professional with over 20 years of experience in various sectors at country, regional and international level showcasing strong strategic acumen and leadership skills. His career includes roles in the private sector as Executive Director at Rouxgold Holdings, CEO and Finance & Operations Director at Trek (Pvt) Ltd, and in Public Health as Senior Program Manager for Child and Maternal Health at ARDA Zimbabwe, Program Administrator at the World Health Organization – East and Southern Africa bloc, and Contracts & Supply Chain Manager at UNDP, Global Fund for Zimbabwe.


He holds a Doctor of Business Administration, Master’s degrees in Strategic Management and Corporate Governance, an MBA, and postgraduate qualifications in Health and Development. Dr. Mugwisi is certified in Project Management (Prince2), Higher Education Teaching Certificate from Harvard University, and Artificial Intelligence in Business Strategies & Applications with Binary University.

 

His fluency in multiple languages facilitates collaboration across cultures, contributing to his success in driving organizational growth and transformation globally.

Prosper Nyabani

Executive Committee Member

Prosper is a WITS Business Scholar, Health Economist, public health specialist and health systems researcher, with over 15 years in health care, health systems strengthening, health financing, emergency response, recovery, preparedness, epidemic and pandemic control & outbreak investigations. He has worked for international NGOs as a Strategy Consultant, M&E Consultant, Research Consultant, Project Manager, Technical lead, Health Advisor and Public Health Manager. He also has worked for the largest health insurance Organization in Zimbabwe, supporting managed health care initiatives. He played an instrumental role in the execution of Results Based Financing (RBF) in Zimbabwe, Prosper has a wealth of experience in Costing health strategies, execution, M&E and reporting on relief and development work.  He has worked on several projects funded by USAID, ECHO, EU, DFID, FCDO, multi-donor fund (HDF-HTF), Global fund and SIDA.

 

Additionally, he has experience as a board member for both Not for profit- & Profit-making sectors.

Prosper is skilled and has technical expertise in strategy development & costing, health promotion, behavioral economics and insights, social listening, community health, health economics and health reforms, programs and projects Economic evaluation, Econometrics, Epidemiology, mixed methods research, leadership and business development.

 

He is the first & sole author of nearly 10 papers in peer reviewed journals. 

Prosper holds a Master of Management (Development Finance, Social Investment & Foreign aid) from Wits Business School, Master of Science degree in Health Economics and a Master of Public Health degree.
